🔵 KASINA: First Look

A first look at a new visual meditation tool called KASINA

Transcript:

Hello, this is Vince Horn here to show you KASINA. Today, I'm going to give you a brief tour of the KASINA web application.

First, log in using your Contemplative Technology email. If you'd like to support this project as a paid subscriber, you can go to contemplative.technology/subscribe.

Once you're in KASINA, you'll see two main options: the Kasinas and the Reflection section. I’ll start by showing you the Kasinas.

Here, you can select your kasina. The selected kasina will appear in the viewing area. We begin with the Color Kasinas—a set of classical colors taken directly from the ancient Buddhist text Visuddhimagga, or The Path of Purification.

Then we have the Elemental Kasinas, which include: Water, Air, Fire, Earth, Space, and Light.

Finally, there's the Timer, which you can customize. Once you begin a session, it will launch in full-screen mode.

You can click here to enter full-screen mode, and use your mouse or trackpad to scroll and adjust the size of the kasina until it feels right to you visually.

Then, simply meditate on the kasina.

After exiting the session—because we meditated for more than 30 seconds—one minute of practice was logged.

On the Reflection page, you’ll see the session we just recorded: a one-minute sit with the Blue Kasina.

You can also browse your past sessions and view a breakdown of your practice time by color and elemental kasinas.

This has been a short overview of KASINA. I hope you found it interesting and that you'll come check it out. Visit contemplative.technology/subscribe if you'd like to become a premium subscriber. At the time of this recording, that’s the only way to access the app.
